Description
Charoite is one of our favorite stones here because of its deep majestic purple color. Wikipedia will tell you: “Charoite is a rare silicate mineral, first described in 1978 and named for the Chara River. It has been reported only from the Aldan Shield, Sakha Republic, Siberia, Russia” so all of these pieces are rather limited in supply.
It’s a relatively “young” stone compared to others who have been talked about for millennia. But whether or not the Romans or the ancient Greeks knew about it, it’s quite popular today.
This specimen is made up of 6mm beads and the total length is around 46cm for a full circle. You could wear this as a neckless as well as a double twisted bracelet. The possibilities are endless with this one.
