This crystal is Agate. It a common rock formation, consisting of chalcedony and quartz as its primary components, it can be found in a wide variety of colors. Agates are primarily formed within volcanic rocks. Decorative uses of agates date back to as far as Ancient Greece where it was used for decoration and jewelry.
